Actress Kajal Agarwal has reportedly pocketed Rs 50 lakh for her five-day work in ‘Awe’. Apart from winning appreciation for her performance as a dejected girl, the actress has fattened her bank balance too.
“Kajal’s role was key to the film and she did a fabulous job,” says a source, close to the unit. “Even though it was billed as her experimental film, actor-turned-producer Nani didn’t mind paying the top actresses their due,” adds the source.
Actually, Kajal draws anywhere between Rs 1 to 1.5 crore for regular commercial films opposite big stars, so her pay for ‘Awe’ is surely on the higher side. “Not really, “ says a source close to the actress. ‘I can’t disclose the exact amount, but she was paid a decent remuneration which she truly deserves,
he reasons.
He further claims that the ‘Maghadeera’ actress is not fascinated with money but only good roles. “She has kept a Rs 2 crore offer in abeyance, because she wasn’t convinced with the script. Hence, her priority is good role over fancy pay,” he concludes.
