Jr NTR does not want his sons to carry on his family’s legacy
In a recent interview, Jr NTR shared his thoughts on his children’s future and his desire for them to have the freedom to choose their own paths, rather than feeling pressured to follow the family legacy. Coming from the prestigious Nandamuri family in Telugu cinema, Jr NTR, whose full name is Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao Jr, is the grandson of the legendary actor NTR (Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao) and the son of Nandamuri Harikrishna, both of whom have left an indelible mark on the film industry.
During the interview, Jr NTR revealed that while his sons are growing up in an environment surrounded by film, he does not want to impose the family’s legacy on them. He emphasized that it is important for his children to decide what they want to do in life, saying, “I want them to explore and make their own decisions, without being pressured into following in my footsteps.”
He further explained how he was fortunate to have had the freedom to explore different interests when he was younger. Not only was Jr NTR a national-level badminton player, but he also trained in classical dance and was given the opportunity to see the world outside of acting. He acknowledged that his family allowed him to make mistakes, but they were always there to guide him back on track.
Jr NTR also shared that, although his children are showing interest in acting because of the environment they are in, he wants to lead by example rather than being someone whose path they are forced to follow. His comments reflect his wish to allow his sons the same freedom and support that he received from his family growing up.
For those unfamiliar with the Nandamuri family, they have a rich legacy in the Telugu film industry. Jr NTR’s grandfather, NTR, was not only a celebrated actor but also a significant political figure. His father, Nandamuri Harikrishna, followed in his father’s footsteps by becoming both an actor and a politician. Additionally, Jr NTR’s uncle, Nandamuri Balakrishna, and his half-brother, Nandamuri Kalyan Ram, are also prominent actors in the industry.
Jr NTR is currently enjoying success with his latest movie, Devara: Part 1, which is directed by Koratala Siva. The film is set to be a two-part story, with Jr NTR playing dual roles. It tells the tale of a man named Devara who seeks justice against former friends who have wronged him. The movie also features a strong supporting cast, including Saif Ali Khan, Janhvi Kapoor, Kalaiyarasan, Prakash Raj, and others.
Looking ahead, Jr NTR is gearing up for his next big project, War 2, where he will star alongside Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the film is highly anticipated by fans across the country.
