It will be almost four months since Sushant Singh Rajput passed away and Akshay Kumar didn’t tweet or say anything either about him or the drugs issue that is rocking Bollywood. Instead he leaked PR material that he drinks cow urine daily and he is into Ayurveda which means he doesn’t take drugs at all. In the last few months he was seen meeting Udhav Thackerey and tweeting trivial stuff on his films.

Yesterday he broke his silence, obviously he had too. His film Laxmi Bomb is gearing up for Diwali release and he is beginning to get jittery, worried that people might not watch his film. So he comes out with a carefully worded video. “These days, there is a lot being spoken about narcotics and drugs. Today, I cross my heart and tell you that I wouldn’t lie about the problem not existing.” He however also asserted, “Every industry has this problem, but it is not true that every person is involved in the problem,” adding, “I am sure that the authorities (NCB, CBI) will take the right action in the matter.”
“I also know that every person from the film industry will cooperate with them to the fullest,” said Akshay, requesting people to not shun down the whole industry because of a few people. He shared believing in the power of the media, stating that if the media does not speak up on the right topic at the right time, then probably there would be no justice served. He, however, also requested the media to break news with sensitivity. With folded hands, Akshay asked fans to keep faith and addressed them as ‘yaar’. He said that if the fans are upset, then the stars will work harder towards gaining their trust again.
