Audiences today are increasingly drawn to films with unique and engaging storylines, steering away from the usual formulaic content. In response to this trend, filmmaker Sathish Babu introduces Jathara, a film that promises to offer something different. Not only has Sathish Babu written and directed the film, but he also takes on the lead role.
Jathara is produced by Radhakrishna Reddy and Siva Shankar Reddy under the Radhakrishnaa Production Company banner, with Galla Manjunath presenting it in collaboration with Movieteck LLC. The film’s promotional campaign kicked off with the release of a compelling first look poster. This poster features Sathish Babu in an intense and dramatic pose, wielding a sword with a fierce expression, creating a strong sense of anticipation for the movie’s narrative.
Set in a drought-affected district in Chittoor, Jathara follows the story of a mysterious black stone that the villagers believe to be the goddess Paleti Gangamma. This discovery brings hope to the people, leading them to construct a temple and organize a grand festival under the leadership of the landlord Venkatareddy. However, the situation takes a significant turn after his death, highlighting themes of faith and resilience.
Deeya Raj plays the female lead, with R.K. Pinnapala, Gopal Reddy, Mahaboob Basha, and Sai Vikranth in supporting roles. K.V. Prasad handles the cinematography, and Sreejith Edavana composes the music. To further heighten interest, the makers plan to release a first glimpse soon.
