Analysis
James is an action drama that has a very predictable premise. The film has two groups and one security guard saving one of them. He then takes revenge and having a backstory is the basic twist in the film. This aspect is started on a good note in the first half. But the director fails to add any emotions in this part. Only the action part looks good during this time.
In all this, what makes us keep hooked on our seats is the action-packed role of Puneeth Rajkumar. The director Chetan has made sure that Appu’s fans do not get disappointed at all. The makers have spent so much money on the film and it is shown in so many scenes.
In the second half and when the actual twist is revealed, James starts to get interesting. The army backdrop, family setup, and emotions are good. James is a big film in Kannada and will break so many records. It is sad to see that Puneeth Rajkumar is no more with us. But he makes sure that his last film has all the elements which his fans wait for in his films.
Bottom Line – Puneeth Raj Kumar’s best work
