Remember in Srimanthudu, Mahesh Babu playing the role of a rich boy turning a do-gooder for the villagers. This proved to be a very effective success formula. Is Mahesh Babu’s next film Maharshi based on the same theme? Sources in the know say yes.
In Srimanthudu, Harsha, son of a millionaire, is unhappy with the luxury life and opulence. He feels there’s a void in his life. He goes to a village, adopts it and starts working for the village. In the process, he comes into the villain’s crosshairs. The film ends with Harsha bashing up the baddies and developing the village.
Maharshi story would be very much like this. Sources say that Vamsi Paidipally has adopted the same story and it would be like a sequel to the Srimanthudu story. Allari Naresh will play a key role in this film. The story will be based on the sacrifices that Mahesh makes for Naresh, his friend. In the process, he is appalled by the conditions in the village and gets involved in the development of the village.
As of now, the film is being shot in Pollachi and scenes of Narsh are being shot there. Interestingly, despite the buzz that the story is inspired by Srimanthudu, neither the producer, nor the director are going back. They are going ahead with the story.
