Is Disha Patani set for another disappointment in Kanguva?
Disha Patani’s debut in South Indian cinema stirred excitement among fans who were eager to see Bollywood’s glamour star in major roles. Known for her stunning looks rather than acting prowess, Disha was anticipated to shine in both Kalki 2898 AD and the upcoming film Kanguva. Unfortunately, her appearance in Kalki was short-lived, with less than 15 minutes of screen time in the lengthy film.
Now, with Kanguva, similar concerns are arising. Reports indicate that the film’s modern-day storyline, in which lead actor Suriya plays a key role, spans only 30 minutes. Within this brief time, Disha’s role seems to be limited, with her appearance mostly confined to a 4-minute song, “Yolo”. This has raised doubts about whether she will have a significant presence in the film’s historical drama, which dominates the rest of the runtime.
Adding to the disappointment, the Censor Board has asked the makers of Kanguva to tone down Disha’s glamour in the film, particularly in the recently released lyrical video. This follows a similar situation in Kalki, where her bikini scenes were trimmed.
With these factors in play, it’s uncertain whether Disha Patani’s venture into South Indian cinema will make the impact her fans had hoped for, or if it will leave them wanting more.
