One of the main reasons why Rangasthalam was such a blockbuster was that reasonable rate at which the film’s theatrical rights were sold. But, quoting an exorbitantly high price for the next film just because one film has made a business of Rs 125 crore is ridiculous.
Vinaya Vidheya Rama producers are trying to sell the film at very high rates. The buyers are agreeing to this just because of the Boyapati-Ram Charan combo.
But, the fact is Vinaya Vidheya Rama does not have the huge universal appeal that Rangasthalam had. This may not appeal to every section. Remember Aravinda Samitha was sold for a fancy price and the film ended up without even getting a break even. Had it been sold for Rs 80 crore, the film would have been billed a hit. The talk in Film Nagar is that the film should be sold for reasonable rates. Otherwise, the hero’s record would have a hit written against his name.
