The schedule for the first 17 days of the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) has been revealed, marking the commencement of this year’s competition on March 22. The official fixtures, announced by IPL organizers on February 22, showcase an exciting opening clash between reigning champions CSK and RCB in Chennai.
Notably, CSK will be playing the opening match for the 9th time in IPL history. Day matches are set to kick off at 3:30 PM, while evening fixtures will commence at 7:30 PM on double-header days, featuring a total of 21 matches during this period.
The IPL’s second day will witness a double-header with Punjab Kings hosting Delhi Capitals and KKR welcoming SRH at the iconic Eden Gardens. Hardik Pandya will make a return to Ahmedabad as the skipper of MI in the evening game, with RR and LSG clashing in the afternoon fixture.
A unique element of this season is DC playing their initial home matches in Vizag, not Delhi, for the first two weeks. The opening match in Vizag will be against CSK.
