AHA is ready with one more web series called In The Name of God that is produced by director Suresh Krishna. The show is streaming now, and read our review to find out if the show has any juice in it or not.
Plot
Meena(Nandini) is the young wife of Ayappa(Posani) who has an affair with Thomas. One fine day, Ayappa comes to know about her and in a fury of events, she kills him on the spot. She is clueless about how to hide the murder and calls in Adi(Priyadarshi) who has a huge crush on her. She plans things in such a way that Adi gets stuck in the case. How will an innocent Adi get out of trouble is the basic crux of ING.
Performances
Nandini Rai is superb as the woman who cheats her husband. Not only with looks but performance-wise too, Nandini has done well in her dark role. Priyadarshi shows his wicked side in this show and is amazing as Adi. He gives a realistic performance and holds the show for the most part. Posani is bold and mouth bad words like there is no tomorrow. Vikas, who pays Thomas is also good. But the actors who play Fakhir and Priyadarshi’s dad, overact like never before.
Analysis
The show has the look and field of Bollywood web series. A lusty wife who cheats her husband and kills him. An innocent guy getting connected to it and things got chaotic. We have seen such shows in plenty. But the way it is set in a town like Rajamundry gives the show an edge over others. The crime angle is so well thought and it looks brutal as well.
But the manner in which the hero is interlinked should have been explained well. Things are good until the second episode but from there, the director loses the plot. He adds so much drama and goes into adding so many characters which irritate you. The story does not come to a point and the cuss words are only an extra irritation for you.
By the end, you get exhausted and the twist is also not revealed properly. This show had all the trappings to be a top show but falters and remains as a good script gone the wrong kind of a scenario.
Bottom Line – Fails to live up to the hype
