The IIFA Awards will kick off on September 27 with a special event called IIFA Utsavam. This celebration is dedicated to the regional film industries of India, specifically Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada cinema. It will honor the artistic and technical achievements in these industries.
The main awards ceremony will take place on September 28, where the best performances from Hindi films released in 2023 will be recognized. The final day, September 29, will feature IIFA Rocks, a night dedicated to celebrating music and fashion.
Venue
The event is being held at the Etihad Arena, located on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, which has a seating capacity of 18,000. This venue has hosted many significant events since the IIFA Awards began in 2000, including locations like New York, Toronto, and Dubai.
How to Watch
For those who wish to watch the IIFA Awards live, the event will be broadcast on several television channels, including Sony TV, STAR Plus, and Colors TV. Additionally, the ceremony will stream live on Zee 5. The event is set to start at 6:00 PM IST, featuring a red carpet segment, followed by the awards ceremony beginning at 7:30 PM IST.
Performances
This year’s IIFA will include exciting performances from prominent artists. The opening day, IIFA Utsavam, will feature dance performances from stars like Regina Cassandra, Raashii Khanna, and Prabhudeva. Regina is set to perform a nine-minute medley, while Raashii will dance to a mix of Telugu and Tamil songs.
The main awards night will be highlighted by a special performance from the legendary actress Rekha, who is expected to perform for over 20 minutes with around 150 dancers accompanying her. She has been dedicated to perfecting her performance, promising a memorable show. Other well-known stars, including Ananya Panday, Janhvi Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor, and Kriti Sanon, will also perform, bringing their energy to the stage.
The final day will focus on music and fashion during IIFA Rocks, although specific performances for that night have not been announced yet.
Hosting Duties
Rana Daggubati, a popular figure in the film industry, will host the IIFA Utsavam event. He aims to bring fun and a behind-the-scenes perspective to the show. The main IIFA Awards will be hosted by several Bollywood actors, including Vicky Kaushal. For IIFA Rocks, the hosts will be Siddhant Chaturvedi and Abhishek Banerjee, with Siddhant expressing excitement about hosting this prestigious event.
