Senior Tamil actor Mansoor Ali Khan faced criticism for his disrespectful comments about actress Trisha, yet he staunchly refused to apologize, claiming innocence and the support of Tamil Nadu residents. During a press gathering in Chennai, he deflected blame onto the media, accusing them of misrepresenting his words to paint him negatively.
Khan’s controversial remarks, specifically about not engaging in intimate scenes with Trisha in the movie Leo alongside Vijay, sparked outrage. His derogatory comments, which circulated widely, prompted Trisha and numerous public figures to condemn his behavior.
Despite mounting pressure, Khan stood firm, rejecting any apology and instead lashing out at the National Commission for Women (NCW) and the Nadigar Sangam, a South Indian Artistes’ Association. He even issued a warning to the Nadigar Sangam, demanding a withdrawal of their statement within a limited timeframe, threatening repercussions otherwise.
Expressing his view , Khan directed strong language towards the NCW, questioning their absence during instances of violence against women in Manipur and other parts of the country. Subsequently, the NCW instructed the Tamil Nadu director general of police to invoke relevant laws against Khan, citing his comments as a form of electronic sexual harassment.
The situation escalated further when prominent figures like DMDK chief Vijayakanth and South Indian Artistes’ Association president M Nasser condemned Khan’s behavior. Nasser emphasized that such remarks, disguised as jokes, were unacceptable, urging Khan—a seasoned actor and technician—to exhibit responsible conduct. He also hinted at a possible temporary suspension unless Khan publicly apologized.
The controversy continues to reverberate across social media, with widespread criticism aimed at Khan. However, his adamant stance against apologizing persists despite growing condemnation from various quarters within the industry and public.
