Renowned actress Samantha, in a recent interview, captivated the audience. Throughout her discourse, she delved into personal and professional aspects of her journey in the entertainment industry.
Known for her versatile performances in films such as ‘The Family Man’ and ‘Pushpa,’ Samantha shed light on the challenges of breaking free from stereotypes. Reflecting on her decision to feature in the chartbuster ‘Oo Antava’ from Allu Arjun’s ‘Pushpa,’ Samantha candidly shared the inner turmoil she faced.
“The decision to do ‘Oo Antava’ was akin to portraying Raji, my character in The Family Man 2. Despite the lack of external influences, allowing me to operate freely, I grappled with self-doubt and discomfort, particularly regarding my sexuality. I have always felt inadequate, battling insecurities about my appearance and confidence,” Samantha expressed during her session.
She elaborated on the daunting task of filming ‘Oo Antava,’ acknowledging her initial trepidation. “For me, it was a monumental challenge. I distinctly remember trembling with fear during the first shot, as portraying ‘sexy’ has never been my forte. However, my journey as an actor and individual has been defined by confronting such obstacles head-on and emerging victorious,” Samantha affirmed.
Taking a hiatus from work in 2022, Samantha is poised to return to the screen with renewed vigor. Among her upcoming projects is directorial duo Raj and DK’s ‘Citadel: India,’ wherein she will share the screen with Varun Dhawan in the much-anticipated spy thriller series.
