I Surrender Before The Director: Aditi Rao Hydari
Ask he how she picks up and delivers the best, she says, “I am not an actor, I’m a trained dancer. I surrender before the director. I had no idea there were parallel leads or main leads. You can shine in a 20 minute role, or a 2-and-a-half hour role. What matters at the end of the day is whether the audience takes you home in their heart. That’s the limtus test. Alia Bhatt, Parineeti Chopra, and Aditya Roy Kapur have taken on such roles in their films.”
The year was also quite momentous for the #MeToo, ask her about it, she says, “I was extra naive when I joined the industry. There was an incident that did not harm me so much, but it still had an impact on me. I had to make a choice, and obviously for me, the choice was clear. I chose not to submit. I did not find work for eight months. I snapped out of it. Today, I’m working with people I want to work with.
