The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Monitoring and Protection (HYDRA) agency demolished actor Akkineni Nagarjuna’s N Convention Center on Friday, August 24, 2024. The move is part of a larger operation targeting illegal constructions that have encroached upon water bodies and public lands in Hyderabad. The N Convention Center, a prominent venue for events like weddings and corporate gatherings, was found to violate multiple land use and environmental regulations.
The property spans 10 acres, but investigations revealed that 1.12 acres of it were illegally built within the Full Tank Level (FTL) of the Tummidikunta Lake. In addition, an extra 2 acres fell within the lake’s buffer zone, further intensifying the severity of the encroachment. As a result, HYDRA initiated the demolition as part of its mission to restore public lands and protect the city’s water resources.
Nagarjuna has yet to issue any public statement about the demolition. The center has long been a popular spot for hosting significant events, which makes this decision impactful for the local community.
On the work front, Nagarjuna Akkineni was last seen in the lead role for the film Naa Saami Ranga directed by Vijay Binni in their debut venture. The period drama movie was the official Telugu remake of the 2019 Malayalam movie Porinju Mariam Jose featuring Allari Naresh, Raj Tarun, Ashika Ranganath, Shabeer Kallarakkal, Mirnaa Menon, Rukshar Dhillon, and Nassar in prominent roles. He will be next seen in the Dhanush starrer movie Kubera directed by Sekhar Kammula. The upcoming film is expected to be a drama flick with each update making it more and more intriguing. A glimpse from the movie was released featuring Nagarjuna in a quite interesting scenario. Besides Dhanush and Nagarjuna Akkineni, the film also has actors Rashmika Mandanna, Jim Sarbh, and Dilip Tahil playing key roles as well.
