How did Nagarjuna and Mahesh Babu miss multi-starrer movie?

Tollywood fans almost got to see a blockbuster combination of King Nagarjuna and Superstar Mahesh Babu in a multi-starrer movie. However, due to unexpected changes in direction, this dream project never materialized. Let’s find out how this happened.

Nagarjuna is known for his willingness to experiment with multi-starrer movies. He previously worked with actors like Karthi in Oopiri, Nani in Devadas, and most recently, Allari Naresh and Raj Tarun in Naa Saami Ranga. He is now working on Coolie and Kubera with Rajinikanth and Dhanush.

Despite being open to multi-starrers, Nagarjuna missed out on working with Mahesh Babu due to an unexpected decision by the director.

Director Srikanth Addala, who made a mark with Kotha Bangaru Lokam, initially planned a multi-starrer with Nagarjuna and Mahesh Babu. Nagarjuna was the first choice for the senior role, and he even showed interest. However, before finalizing the script, Srikanth received an offer from producer Suresh Babu and actor Venkatesh.

As a result, the director modified the script and pitched it to Venkatesh. Soon, Mahesh Babu was also brought on board, leading to the making of Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu. The film became a massive hit, setting a trend for multi-starrers in Telugu cinema.

Had Srikanth Addala stuck to his original plan, we might have seen Nagarjuna and Mahesh Babu sharing the screen. Instead, the opportunity slipped away, and the movie became a memorable hit with a different cast. Fans still hope to see this powerful duo together in the future.
