Analysis
KV Guhan directed this film which is a road thriller. It has a good premise and is also elevated well when it comes to the backdrop of the psycho killer. But the lead pair are dull and their track is not at all interesting and creates hurdles to the narrative. The climax is as silly as it can get.
KV Guhan is a great technician and he has made sure that the technical aspects like BGM and visuals are great. The setup and color tone used to show the thriller indulges the audience quite well. But the editing could have been better. The cat and mouse game between the killer and police look silly.
Road thrillers are meant to be racy but that is not the case with Highway. It takes its own sweet time and has been narrated in a dull manner. There are some thrills that draw your attention but do not make you sit on the edge of your seats and cheer for it.
Bottom Line – So So Thriller
