Originally named Adivi Sunny Chandra, Adivi Sesh faced teasing from his friends while studying in the United States. The reason? His name’s similarity to that of Bollywood actress Sunny Leone.
Sesh explained, “When I was studying in the US, my friends used to tease me and call me ‘Sunny Leone’ because of the similarity in our names. I didn’t want to be associated with that, so I decided to change my name to Adivi Sesh.” He was keen to distance himself from these associations and wanted to carve out his own identity as a versatile actor. At the time, Sunny Leone was a well-known figure in the adult entertainment industry, and her influence was widespread in the United States. This added to the teasing and prompted Sesh to make the change.
In addition to the association with Sunny Leone, there was another factor influencing his decision. Sesh mentioned that there was a popular orange drink in the US called Sunny Delight. The combination of these two associations made him more determined to adopt a new name.
