Triptii Dimri’s role as Zoya in Animal has gained notice, and criticism has been directed at the film’s misogynistic treatment of women. In a Bollywood Hungama interview, Triptii shared that her parents were surprised and disapproved of her intimate scene with Ranbir Kapoor, expressing that she “shouldn’t have done it.”
Triptii discussed her parents’ reaction to the intimate scene in Animal, sharing, “My parents were somewhat surprised, saying, ‘We’ve never seen something like this in films, and you did it.’ It took them a while to come to terms with that scene. Despite their concern, they were understanding, saying, ‘You shouldn’t have done that, but it’s okay. As parents, we’ll naturally feel this.’”
Triptii explained that she assured her parents that it was her duty as an actor to portray the role truthfully. She mentioned, “I told them I am not doing anything wrong. It’s my job, and as long as I am comfortable and safe, I don’t see any problem in that. I am an actor, and I have to be 100 percent honest with the character that I play, and I did that.”
Triptii conveyed appreciation for her parents’ understanding, recognizing their initial surprise but eventual support for her decisions. She emphasized her comfort and safety during the filming process, giving credit to director Sandeep Reddy Vanga for detailed discussions about every scene. Triptii mentioned that after watching the film, her parents praised her, acknowledging the positive reception she received for her portrayal of Zoya.
It’s noteworthy that Animal is the highest-grossing movie in Ranbir Kapoor’s career. Triptii Dimri’s performance, despite sparking debates, undeniably played a role in the film’s widespread recognition and financial success.
