South Indian cinema’s beloved King Nagarjuna Akkineni has left an indelible mark not only in South Indian films but also in Hindi cinema. As he approaches his 65th birthday on August 29, 2024, Nagarjuna’s journey through film and life continues to intrigue fans and critics alike. Born on August 29, 1959, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu Nagarjuna has had a career filled with remarkable performances and hit movies. However, his personal life has also drawn considerable attention particularly his marriages and a notable relationship with a Bollywood actress.

Nagarjuna-Lakshmi Daggubati

Nagarjuna’s first marriage was with Lakshmi Daggubati in 1984 when he was just 25 years old. Lakshmi’s father, D. Ramanaidu, was a close friend of Nagarjuna’s father, Nageshwar Rao, which led to the arrangement of the marriage. Despite their strong family ties, the marriage lasted only six years, ending in divorce in 1990.

Nagarjuna -Amala

Two years after his divorce, Nagarjuna found love again and married actress Amala Akkineni in 1992. The couple has two sons, Naga Chaitanya and Akhil Akkineni. While his marriage with Amala appeared stable, reports of a romantic relationship between Nagarjuna and Bollywood actress Tabu surfaced, capturing media and public attention. Their relationship, which allegedly lasted for ten years, became the talk of the town. Despite the widespread speculation, neither Nagarjuna nor Tabu ever publicly acknowledged their relationship.

Nagarjuna -Tabu

The affair reportedly ended because Nagarjuna was unwilling to leave Amala. This decision marked the end of his relationship with Tabu, who has remained unmarried and is currently 52 years old. While the reasons behind their breakup remain undisclosed, the impact of their relationship on their lives has been a subject of much discussion.

Nagarjuna and Amala have since continued their journey together, showing resilience in their marriage. Meanwhile, his elder son, Naga Chaitanya, has been in the limelight recently due to his personal life. After his divorce from actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Chaitanya got engaged to actress Sobhita Dhulipala, known for her role in the series Made In Heaven.
