Disappointment again for Akkineni Akhil. This third film Mr Majnu too garnered average talk and the openings too are average. Like the first two films ‘Akhil’ and ‘Hello,’ Mr Majnu too failed to enthuse the audience.
Unlike the earlier two films, Akhil was not asked to carry huge load of responsibility for Mr Majnu. The worldwide theatrical rights were sold only for Rs 22 crore. This is not a huge asking amount. But, even recovering this amount seems to be a tall order for akhil. The film might end up as an also-ran.
In the first weekend, the film could get just Rs 9.5 crore share. The Monday collections have slumped further. According to trade pundits, the film could get just about Rs 1 crore on Monday. This is almost a third of a weekend day collection. At this rate, the film might not have a long run and reahing Rs 15 crore mark in the full run too appears impossible.
The collections in the US is even more disappointment. The total collections are hovering around $ 2 million, while the expectations were around a million dollars. Thus, the film might end up as another failure.
Akhil’s career is on the downslide with the first three films failing on trot. Nag is known as a mastermind and the master of strategy. But, he is unable to lift up the career of his son.
