Gowtam Tinnanuri’s Jersey starring Nani and Shraddha Srinath was a blockbuster film that was lapped up by critics and audience alike. After the humongous success, the film headed to Bollywood which is being made by the same director under the same title. The Hindi remake stars Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur. To get under the skin of his character, Shahid was learning cricket in Chandigarh before lockdown. In fact, he also brusie his lips while practicing.
With partial relaxation and the government letting films to shoot by adhering to limited crew members on shoot. Ask the same to the filmmaker regarding reusing shoot, he says, “Now, there is a cap on the number of crew members can be present on the film set. Whenever the government allows us to increase the number, following the health situation in the country, we would need at least four weeks to be on floors. As for Shahid, he would need at least two weeks of cricket practice before we begin the shoot to get back into the groove. He is a good cricketer, so we have less to worry on that front.”
On the other side, Shahid’s coach Rajiv Mehra also said, “Both, Shahid and I, feel that we need at least 10 days of practise before the shoot starts again. We have to ensure that he doesn’t sustain any injury while practicing or shooting…It’s a very delicate situation to be in because now we will be working against a tight deadline.”
