Chandrababu Naidu, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh today toured the Amaravati region and surveyed the damage that had been inflicted on the area over the past five years under the administration of Jagan Mohan Reddy. During his visit, he spoke to Amaravati farmers and the media using the opportunity to criticize Jagan in a humorous yet pointed manner.
Chandra Babu Naidu referenced the prolonged agitation of Amaravati farmers which lasted for 1,631 days. He humorously noted that the sum of these numbers (1+6+3+1) equals 11, the same number of seats that the YSR Congress secured in the recent elections. He implied that this outcome was divinely scripted stating, “This is God’s script!” This remark was a satirical jab at Jagan Mohan Reddy who had previously mocked Naidu’s party the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), for its 23 seats using similar rhetoric about divine intervention.
Thank you for coming, @actor_Nikhil, and for your best wishes. https://t.co/StQlzEvpZe

Between 2019 and 2024, Jagan had often ridiculed the TDP’s 23-seat count, suggesting that it was part of a divine plan. Now, with the YSR Congress only winning 11 seats, Naidu used the same logic to mock Jagan. He suggested that there should be a discussion about permanently keeping such individuals away from politics, highlighting the irony and turning Jagan’s own words against him.
Chandrababu Naidu also announced the formation of a committee to assess the damage done to the region and to suggest ways to move forward with the capital project. He assured the public that Amaravati would be a self-financing project meaning that the income generated from the capital would fund its construction and development.
Additionally, Chandrababu Naidu took this opportunity to remind the public of the stark difference in seats between his party and Jagan’s. Chandrababu Naidu’s speech also included a broader critique of Jagan’s government pointing out the destruction and the setback the capital region had faced. He stressed the importance of steering politics away from individuals who had caused such damage, implying that Jagan’s leadership had been detrimental to the progress and prosperity of Andhra Pradesh.
