In GOAT, Vijay plays dual roles, delivering a gripping performance as an anti-terrorism squad leader named Gandhi. Gandhi’s life takes a dark turn when his son, Jeevan, is kidnapped during a mission in Bangkok. Netflix also revealed a new poster showing Vijay alongside a younger version of himself, sparking conversations about his dual role in the film. The actor’s fans flooded social media with comments, expressing excitement and curiosity about the possibility of an extended director’s cut of the film.

Despite the mixed reviews, GOAT performed exceptionally well at the box office, raking in ₹249.75 crore in India and a total worldwide gross of ₹449.35 crore. This massive success, combined with Vijay’s devoted fan following, has contributed to the movie’s early transition to OTT.
Vijay’s Political Future
GOAT is significant as it is one of Vijay’s last films before his anticipated entry into politics. He has already formed a political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, and has one more film lined up with director H Vinoth. In his final film before politics, Vijay is expected to take on the role of a “torchbearer of democracy,” adding to the anticipation surrounding his career transition.
