Gamanam has been the comeback film of Shriya. The film is directed by Sujuna Rao and, read our review to find out if the film has any juice or not.
Plot
The film has three stories. The first one has Shriya who is deaf and is collecting money for her surgery. In the second story, there is Shiva Kandukuri who wants to become a cricketer. In the last story, there are two homeless kids who just want to buy a cake. Tragedy strikes when the floods cause havoc in their lives. How they come out is the story.
Performances
The film has not have many actors but Shriya Saran is the best of the lot. She has given her life and soul for the role and she as a deaf mom is very good. Shriya has shown the pain her character goes through in a wonderful manner. Also, the manner in which Shiva Kandukuri acted was below par. He needs more experience to pull such roles of. Charu Haasan and Priyanka Jawalkar were good.
Analysis
Gamanam is an anthology film with three different stories in one. But in such films, the drama needs to be strong. But that is not the case. Only Shriya’s story has some pain and tension.
The second half is where the pace changes and a flood angle is brought into the stories. This gives the film an edge but on the other hand, it also gives boredom for other stories in the film.
The conflict point is not strong even though the backdrop is good. Gamanam is a film that has good performances but the drama could have been better. However, the film has some juice to saviour it this weekend.
