The mining baron Gali Janardhan Reddy after being on the run for three days has finally appeared before the Bengaluru police in connection with Ponzi scam. The Bengaluru crime branch gave him 48 hours time to surrender. The BJP leader’s name cropped up during the investigation of one the accused where it was learnt that Reddy has taken a bribe of Rs 18 crore to free Ponzi scam accused Syed Ahmed Fareed.

Reddy who was said t be on hiding in Hyderabad or other place said today, “I want to tell the media, I’m not in Hyderabad or anywhere else. I’m in Bangalore watching TV. [My] lawyer told me don’t worry if there’s a notice please go to the crime branch. I have got a notice from the crime branch, I’ll appear before the police. I’ll cooperate with the police. A wrong message shouldn’t go out to the public.”
Previously, Bengaluru police commissioner Suneel Kumar said, “The owner of Ambidant claimed that Janardhana Reddy and his associates told him they will help him get rid of ED cases.”
