Valmiki Movie Review
Mega hero Varun Tej has steadily carved a niche for himself by choosing off beaten and experimental roles. Varun, who hit a big hit with this year’s F2 has come up with a Telugu remake of hit Tamil film Jigarthanda. The film titled as Valmiki owing to controversy and it undergoes title change to Gaddhalakonda Ganesh. So how has the film fared? Did the film give Varun another hit? Let’s see.
Story:
Abhi (Atharvaa) wants to break into the cinema industry by turning a filmmaker. He seeks out for realisitc story with a charter having negative tinge. Incidentally, he finds his muse in Gallakonda Ganesh (Varun Tej). Ganesh mercilessly kills people so that people get scared of him. In this context how did Abhi get closer to Ganesh .. Does he takes the film with Ganesh? And does Ganesh gets change din this process forms the story…
Performances:
Varun Tej is impeccable in the roles of Gaddhalakonda Ganesh. From his dialogue delivery to body language, Varun owned the character. In fact, Varun carried the entire film on his shoulders by stealing the show. Speaking about Abhi essayed by Atharvaa The Tamil hero essayed his part well. Actress Pooja Hegde though in her limited role has impressed the audience. So is the case with Mrinalni Ravi. Other artistes like Tanikala Bharnini, Brahmaji fitted the bill.
Analysis:
The script is a backbone to the film ahs been proved with Gaddhalakonda Ganesh. The film is the remake of Tamil film Jigarthanda which was a blockbuster hit of 2014. Harish Shankar who gave the credit to Karthik Subbaraj in the film credits which proves the mettle the film has. Harish SHnkar tweaked the story a tad to suit the nativity of the Telugu audience. But the role played by Bobby Simha in Tamil has been essayed by Varun Tej. While Bobby Simha’s character appears to evoke fun, Varun Tej evokes a seriousness in his character.
Spekang about the drawback, the biopic Varun Tej as Gaddhalakonda Ganesh should have appeared sober, but it adds more pun and turns comic. This difference could be ntice only by the audience who has watched the original film. Apart from the plot, if one thing that needs to be credited is Mickey J Meyar’s music. Not only songs, but the BGM is in sync with the narration.
