“Friends: The Reunion. THE BREAK IS OVER,” the official Instagram handle of the show wrote while sharing the trailer. It features the lead cast of the show, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer. They return to the Friends’ original soundstage Stage 24, on the Warner Bros. Studio lot in Burbank, California. The trailer is bound to evoke laughter as well as tears as it revisits iconic moments in the series. The trailer opens with David Schwimmer asking his co-stars about the length of the letter Rachel wrote for Ross. The actors appear as themselves in the reunion special, which will see them reminisce about the time they spent while shooting for the hugely popular show. The Friends reunion episode will premiere on streaming service HBO Max on May 27. The long-awaited reunion will also feature a slew of guests including Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, K-Pop band BTS, Mindy Kaling, David Beckham, Reese Witherspoon and so on. The special was supposed to launch the HBO Max streaming service in May 2020, but plans to film it were repeatedly delayed by the pandemic that shut down production in Hollywood in mid-March.
