The Andhra Pradesh government has been discussing a three-capital proposal for the past five years, but it seems to have faced challenges without much success.
As the general elections approach in less than two months, TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu claims that the YCP government has abandoned the three capitals plan and is now considering a fourth capital proposal. He points to YV Subba Reddy’s recent statement suggesting that Hyderabad should be the joint capital of AP until Vizag is developed.
Meanwhile, Chandrababu Naidu criticizes the YCP government for its alleged inconsistency and lack of commitment to the development of the capital. He highlights that the government initially promised three capitals but later changed its stance, now seemingly favoring Hyderabad as a fourth capital. Naidu expresses concern about the careless and lackluster administration of the YCP government, emphasizing that such a crucial matter should not be treated lightly.
“This YCP government said in the parliament that they will develop three capitals in Andhra Pradesh but they backtracked later and didn’t develop any. And all of a sudden, they have pushed the narrative to have Hyderabad as the fourth capital. This shows the kind of carelessness and lackluster administration of the YCP government. An important topic like the development of the capital is being treated like a joke by this government” Chandrababu said.
The TDP chief confidently predicts that the TDP and JSP alliance will form the government in Andhra Pradesh. He asserts that once this happens, government and police officers who neglected their duties to support the YCP will face consequences and be taught a lesson. CBN suggests that the development of the capital is not a matter to be taken lightly and criticizes the YCP government for its handling of this important issue.
