The Central Crime Branch had intensified its investigation into a drugs scandal in Bengaluru after the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) arrested three people from the city, who were allegedly supplying drugs to singers and actors in the Kannada film industry. The scandal comes amid allegations of drug use surrounding the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput in June.
The link between the Kannada film industry and the ongoing drug probe intensified when filmmaker Indrajeet Lankesh volunteered to share information to the probing officers. Following that, he was called on for investigation once and subsequently revealed that he had shared names of around 15 actors who indulge in substance abuse.The CCB on Wednesday had issued a notice to Ragini Dwivedi, actress to appear before it for investigations on Thursday, but the actress had sent a team of lawyers who had requested for time till Monday. However, CCB police had raided her residence after obtaining a court warrant on Friday and was arrested later today.
