A press meet was held by Vikas Singh, family lawyer of Sushant Singh Rajput. Earlier on television, the lawyer had stated that he had spoken to a doctor at AIIMS and showed the pictures taken by Sushant’s sister when he died and the response was ‘This is a 200 percent strangulation case.” Vikas Singh followed ethics and protocol and didn’t reveal the name of the doctor he spoke to as he thought it would embarrass him and also jeopardise his position at AIIMS.
It came as a shock to Vikas Singh and the late actor’s family too when the doctor who actually ruled out suicide gave a contrary statement and that too a conclusive one to select media persons. Vikas Singh had known Sudhir Gupta well and there was a relationship of trust but in this case he had made a casual remark. “The post mortem didn’t record at the time of death, no details on injury on the bodies and viscera was insufficient. Suicide can’t be declared by a medical team, it has to be declared by the CBI. The medical team can best say it is a death by hanging or strangulation but not suicide,” he says and this is against fair investigation. The family had written to the CBI director to constitute a fresh forensic team to check if the death can be said by hanging or strangulation. If it is by hanging, there can also be murder and it cannot be ruled out. The person can be drugged or poisoned and then hanged. There was nothing new that Vikas Singh had spoken at the press meet, he merely repeated what he stated a few days before for seeking a new team. If Siddarth Pithani who was Sushant’s friend and he was someone that the actor’s family trusted, can do a flip flop, it is difficult for them to trust anyone, he added.
