The Commissioner’s Task Force, Central Zone Team, has apprehended Raju Gangaram Ankalap, a fraudulent individual posing as a qualified medical professional. Ankalap, aged 53 and residing in Ramanthapur, Hyderabad, was operating a clinic named Sri Sai Venkateswara Clinic in Amberpet, where he deceived unsuspecting patients and jeopardized their lives for personal gain.
Ankalap, lacking legitimate medical qualifications, exploited his limited knowledge of Ayurvedic and General medicine acquired while working in clinics to establish his own fraudulent practice. Under the guise of Dr. A. Raju, D.NYS, P.G.D.EM.S. (Mumbai), and Family Physician, he conducted health assessments and prescribed medications without proper diagnostic reports, endangering the lives of his patients.
Acting on credible information, the Central Zone Task Force team raided Ankalap’s clinic and seized various medical items, including Dispo Van injections, syringes, nebulizer machines, prescription books, and more. Additionally, a sum of Rs. 1,200 in cash was confiscated.
An earlier case (CR No. 215/2023) had been registered against Ankalap at the Amberpet police station, leading to his apprehension in the recent operation. Ankalap, along with the seized medical items, has been handed over to the SHO of Amberpet police station for further necessary action. A new case (CR No. 184/2024) has been registered against him under sections 419 and 420 of the IPC at Amberpet police station.
