Fahadh Faasil’s Bougainvillea OTT release details out
Bougainvillea, a psychological slasher thriller starring Kunchacko Boban, Jyothirmayi, and Fahadh Faasil, debuted in theaters on October 17, 2024. Directed by Amal Neerad, the film is now set for its OTT release on SonyLIV, starting December 13, 2024.
The movie revolves around Dr. Royce Thomas, his wife Reethu, and their children. Years ago, Reethu suffered an accident that led to memory loss. Despite her struggles with amnesia, the family seems to lead a peaceful life. However, their world is turned upside down when Reethu becomes the prime suspect in a series of disappearances involving women. She must piece together her fragmented memories to help the police solve the case while confronting hidden secrets from her past.

The film is adapted from the novel Ruthinte Lokham, co-written by screenwriter Lajo Jose.
Alongside the lead trio, the movie features a stellar ensemble cast, including Veena Nandakumar, Sharaf U Dheen, Srinda, Shobi Thilakan, and Jinu Joseph. This film marks Jyothirmayi’s return to the silver screen after an 11-year break, her last appearance being in the 2014 film Urava. The film received mixed to positive reviews and achieved moderate success at the box office. The soundtrack is composed by Sushin Shyam, adding depth to the film’s intense narrative.
Post Bougainvillea, Kunchacko Boban is gearing up for a role in the Mammootty-led film MMMN, directed by Mahesh Narayanan. Fahadh Faasil will also appear in this movie alongside Mohanlal, who has a cameo role. Additionally, Fahadh is set to portray the antagonist in the highly anticipated Pushpa 2: The Rule, featuring Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna.
