Did Rashmika Mandanna really refuse to attend Bengaluru film festival?
Recently, Rashmika Mandanna was accused of ignoring the Kannada language and refusing an invitation to the Bengaluru International Film Festival. Congress MLA Ravikumar Gowda Ganiga expressed disappointment, alleging that the actress disrespected Kannada culture. However, a source close to Rashmika has now denied these claims calling them false and misleading.
A source clarified that the rumors regarding Rashmika’s refusal to attend the festival and her alleged statements about Karnataka are completely untrue. “These reports are baseless. The claim that Rashmika refused the invitation or made derogatory remarks is incorrect,” said the insider.

MLA Ravikumar Gowda Ganiga had earlier stated that Rashmika showed disregard for Kannada cinema despite beginning her career in Karnataka with Kirik Party. He claimed that she declined the festival invite saying she had no time and did not know where Karnataka was. The MLA also alleged that a legislator visited her house multiple times to convince her, but she refused.
This is not the first time Rashmika has faced criticism from Kannada fans. During an event for Chhaava, her comments led some to accuse her of distancing herself from her roots. Rashmika, originally from Coorg, has worked in multiple film industries, including Telugu, Tamil and Hindi.
Rashmika is currently celebrating the success of Chhaava where she starred alongside Vicky Kaushal. She will next be seen in Sikandar with Salman Khan.directed by AR Murugadoss.
