Fact Check: Did NTR really break his promise?
A recent controversy surrounds actor Jr. NTR, where allegations claim he failed to fulfill a promise to help a cancer patient who was his fan. However, let’s examine the facts behind this incident.
Some time ago, a woman from Tirupati who was the mother of a Jr NTR hard core fan was seen in tears and the video went viral in social media. In the video she urged people to donate money for the treatment of his son who is suffering from blood cancer. She also said that her son is a big fan of Jr NTR and wishes to watch Devara.
During Devara release, NTR made a video call to a cancer patient to encourage him. This act itself showcased his kindness and willingness to connect with his fans. However, this situation took surprise turn recently as the patient’s mother stated in front of the media that “NTR did not directly help us financially; his fans provided the assistance.”

Amidst this, let us recall what NTR said in the video during Devara release. In the video, NTR never promised to provide financial help or specify any amount. When the patient’s mother requested, “Please arrange for treatment, sir,” NTR replied, “Stay strong. I will talk to my people.” True to his word, NTR spoke with his fans, who then extended their support. Additionally, the hospital team also offered significant help.
There is no evidence to suggest NTR made any false promises. Instead, he took time to console and motivate a fan, which in itself is commendable. He did not promise any specific monetary assistance, and he stayed true to his words by coordinating support through his fans.
Rather than blame NTR, we should appreciate his gesture of encouragement during a tough time.
