The film is anticipated to be a science fiction action drama, drawing inspiration from the 2012 Hollywood movie ‘Looper’, directed by Rian Johnson. ‘Looper’ revolves around an assassin’s journey into the future, featuring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Bruce Willis in key roles. Director Venkat Prabhu seems to have tailored the screenplay of ‘Looper’ to cater to the Tamil audience’s preferences for ‘Thalapathy 68’. While the original film starred two actors in different time periods, Vijay is set to play a dual role, offering fans a double delight.
Now we exclusively learnt from trusted sources that Vijay will portray both a father and son in the film. Senior actress Sneha is rumored to play the lead actress opposite the fatherly Vijay and will be seen as Vijay’s wife. On the other hand, Meenakshi Chaudhary is likely to pair with the younger version of Vijay.
Meanwhile, confirmation about the Hollywood film’s influence is pending from director Venkat Prabhu or the production team. Interestingly, Vijay’s previous release, ‘Leo’, drew inspiration from ‘History of Violence’, marking a consecutive streak of Hollywood-inspired projects for the actor.
