“Everyone is saying that this time my film Orey Bujjigaa will hit the bull’s eye. It is good if it happens because I am always happy with all my films, irrespective of the hits and flops. I believe in the subject, I put in the same effort for all and enjoy working. I feel I am blessed and lucky to be in this situation, also I have recently signed four films,” says Raj Tarun who has been honestly doing his work and waiting with patience for that one film which has been eluding him for quite a long time, to be precise he hasn’t had a hit after Kittu Unnadu Jagrattha. He has also developed a thick skin to the barbs that social media has been throwing at him and states he takes it with a pinch of salt. In fact, there is no choice other than laughing it off when he glances at the messages and links written on him, forwarded to him by his well-wishers.
Orey Bujjigaa is carrying a good buzz in the trade circle. Director Vijay Kumar Konda who made Gundejari Gallanthayindi and Oka Laila Kosam had worked meticulously on the screenplay for two years; it is touted to be a laugh riot. His co-star from Kumari 21F, Hebah Patel too is in the film and Malavika Nair is the heroine. “Yes, Hebah Patel is doing an extended cameo. I wasn’t sure she would do it but she said yes. I saw this movie multiple times. We didn’t know when we wound up the film, also whenever I feel low I would go to the edit room and watch it and I would have blast. I and comedian Madhu Nandan would go for high fives, it is really hilarious. Even now when I get to know it is being screened to someone I take the opportunity to see it,” says Raj Tarun brimming with content and confidence and adds that it isn’t just the writing that stands out, the performances are great. The director apparently kept him on mind half way through, while writing the story.
Sreenu is the hero’s name but all the folks in the village address him as Orey Bujjigaa. It is a love story that promises laughter in every scene. To put it in a nutshell, it is a tale of two people who hate each other but are in love with each other, what stops them from expressing it forms the second part of the film. The song Krishnaveni is a breezy number that instantly connected with the mass. There is a 15-minute hilarious sequence in the second half that is sure to make people fall of their chairs, it is enough to make the film work at the box office. About yesteryear heroine Vani Vishwanath doing a prime role, Raj Tarun shares, “She would come early to the sets and her enthusiasm is infectious. We had very few combination scenes. We are glad that she accepted the role, she plays Malavika’s mother in this confusion comedy. People will compare the energy I exuded in the film to my hit film Cinema Chupista Maava.”
Right now like others, he is at home and says it is a respite, he adds, “We have gone through lot of things and survived. I was confident nothing would happen but now all happened so swiftly and caught us unawares. People are calling me for interviews and I am staying away from any form of publicity. Being alive is much more important, we don’t know when the release would be but it is not right. It is inconsiderate and insensitive to talk about the film. The media finally understood and let me do my thing. It is a pandemic. I have 16 dogs to take care of. No going to gym, so doing pushups. I lost my resistance band and I didn’t buy it again. It would have been of use right now. Sometimes watching series and reading too. All the actors are active on social media keeping people occupied and entertaining them and see they don’t get bored.”
