Suriya is a star which has a very good following in Telugu as well. He is now out with his new film ET which was released today. Read our review to find out if the film has any juice in it or not.
Plot
Krishna Mohan(Suriya) is a lawyer who helps the needy. His village also has issues with a criminal called Kamesh(Vinay Rai). Things go to another level when Kamesh secretly films’ Suriya and his wife Adira(Priyanka Arul) in a romantic avatar. Suriya comes to know that he is not the only victim but Kamesh has done this with many other girls. How he teaches Kamesh a lesson is the story of ET.
Performances
Suriya is quite sincere in his effort and plays to the galleries. He is seen in a mass avatar after a long time and Suriya is very good. His mass action scenes are also nice. Priyanka Arul looks ok but does not have the ability or screen presence to stand out in the crowd. Satyaraj does not get much to do in the film. Saranya is funny as Suriya’s mom. Vinay Rai plays the main lead but his role is not at all elevated well in the film which makes the proceedings weak.

Analysis
By the looks of the trailer, one can clearly understand that the film is an old school drama with a social message about women in particular. The film is directed by Pandiraj and he has not showcased anything new in ET.
The entire first half is shady, silly, and over the top. You don’t understand what is going on in the film. The main conflict is not at all established well by the director. This leaves the audience in distress as there is no flow in the film. The comedy showcased is also silly.
The romantic thread of Suriya and Priyanka is bland and the songs are also horrible. In all this, the one who keeps us engaged is Suriya with his sincere performance. The production values are dull but the fights are amazing to say the least. BGM is very loud.
ET is a film which has an old school narration and nothing new to enjoy. It has routine masala which does not make sense in the first half. But by the time it makes some, you are exhausted in a big way.
Bottom – Exhausting and Boring
