DYK Yash’s bodyguard played the villain in KGF?
Rocking Star Yash’s KGF series created a global sensation with its intense storyline and brilliant performances. Among its standout characters was the antagonist, Garuda, played by Ramachandra Raju. Surprisingly, Ramachandra was Yash’s real-life bodyguard for over 12 years before stepping into the world of cinema.
Ramachandra left his job at a construction company to work with Yash as his personal bodyguard and driver. While accompanying Yash, he nurtured a secret passion for acting. His big break came when KGF director Prashanth Neel spotted his potential during a script discussion with Yash.

Before his role as Garuda, Ramachandra underwent extensive preparation, including a year-long acting workshop and physical training to build the imposing physique required for the character. His dedication paid off, as his portrayal of Garuda received widespread acclaim. His intense gaze, powerful dialogue delivery, and commanding presence made him a memorable antagonist.
Following the success of KGF: Chapter 1, Ramachandra reprised his role in KGF: Chapter 2. This performance opened doors to numerous projects, including movies like Sulthan, Salaar, and Aaraattu. Ramachandra shared in an interview that he never imagined his role would have such a significant impact on his career. He described the overwhelming response from fans as a dream come true.
