DYK why Shruti Haasan walked out of Dacoit?
Shruti Haasan has officially walked away from the film Dacoit, starring Adivi Sesh. Mrunal Thakur has stepped in to replace her in the lead role. While there was speculation about the reason for her exit, it has now been revealed that Shruti left the project due to issues with a co-star.
Reports suggest that Shruti Haasan did not back out because of a scheduling conflict, but rather due to the excessive involvement of her co-actor in the film’s script. Although Shruti was eager to explore new acting opportunities, she reportedly felt uncomfortable with the co-actor’s over-involvement. Additionally, frequent rescheduling of the film’s shoot further contributed to her decision to leave the project.
The announcement of Mrunal Thakur’s casting in the lead role was made on December 17, 2024, coinciding with Adivi Sesh’s birthday. Dacoit is described as an action-packed drama about two former lovers who come together for a series of robberies that change their lives.
Meanwhile, Shruti Haasan continues to work on Coolie, an upcoming action-thriller starring Rajinikanth. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film, slated for release in May 2025, will also feature Bollywood star Aamir Khan in a cameo role.
Dacoit will move forward with Mrunal Thakur in the lead, and fans are eagerly waiting to see how the new cast dynamic will shape the film.
