DYK what Vishwak Sen’s original name was and why did he change it?
Vishwak Sen, a prominent actor, director, and screenwriter in the Telugu film industry, was born Dinesh Naidu in Hyderabad on March 29, 1995. He changed his name upon his parents’ advice, a decision deeply influenced by their belief in numerology. This name change marked a turning point in his career, leading to his successful re-entry into films in 2017 with Vellipomakey. Vishwak initially entered the industry at age 14 as a child actor in Bangaru Babu but only gained recognition later as a lead actor.
During an interview, Vishwak mentioned how his parents’ decision to change his name from Dinesh Naidu to Vishwak Sen came at a critical time in his career. His film Vellipomakey was delayed, and after the name change, it was released within weeks. He believes the name change, guided by numerology, astrology, and Vaastu Shastra, transformed his life, giving him opportunities like being part of Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi.
After establishing himself as a capable actor, Vishwak tried his hand at directing with Falaknuma Das in 2019, a remake of the Malayalam movie Angamaly Diaries. This film cemented his position in the industry as a versatile artist. He also starred in HIT: The First Case, a thriller produced by actor Nani, which further bolstered his career.
However, Vishwak Sen also made headlines for controversies, notably an altercation with a news anchor during an interview in 2022. The anchor made derogatory comments, calling him Paagal Sen, leading to a heated exchange that went viral. Another controversy involved veteran actor Arjun Sarja, who accused Vishwak of unprofessionalism, a claim Vishwak denied, explaining the situation from his perspective.
Vishwak continues to expand his career with upcoming projects like Mechanic Rocky, where he plays the lead. His growth as an actor and director, despite challenges and controversies, has made him a key figure in Telugu cinema.
