DYK Rajinikanth insisted producer to stop Jr NTR’s film midway
Superstar Rajinikanth is known for his wisdom and valuable advice in the film industry. He has guided many actors and producers throughout his career. However, one Tollywood producer ignored Rajinikanth’s warning and faced a huge loss. This incident is related to Jr NTR’s movie Shakti, produced by Ashwini Dutt.

Ashwini Dutt who is a well-known Tollywood producer has made several blockbuster films like Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari and Indra. He strongly believes in astrology and often follows astrological predictions. In 2010, a famous astrologer warned him not to produce any movies for seven years, as he would face financial troubles. However, Ashwini Dutt didn’t want to stop his career and decided to produce Shakti, starring Jr NTR and Ileana D’Cruz.
During the production of Shakti, Ashwini Dutt met his close friend Rajinikanth. When Rajinikanth asked about his upcoming projects, Dutt explained that he was making a film based on Shakti Peethas (sacred temples of Goddess Shakti). Hearing this, Rajinikanth immediately warned him, saying, “Do not proceed with this film. It won’t bring good results.” However, since half of the shooting was already completed, Dutt could not stop the movie. Instead, Rajinikanth suggested performing special prayers to avoid any bad luck.

Despite the prayers and efforts, Shakti failed miserably at the box office. The movie, which was made on a massive budget, could not recover its investment. Ashwini Dutt reportedly suffered losses of around ₹25 crores.
In a later interview, Ashwini Dutt admitted that he should have listened to Rajinikanth’s advice.
