Shah Rukh Khan and Rajkumar Hirani’s latest film ‘Dunki’ has hit the screens with much fanfare across India. It marks Shah Rukh Khan’s third release this year after ‘Pathaan’ in January and ‘Jawan’ in September. The movie premiered at Mumbai’s iconic Gaiety Galaxy theatre, starting at 5.55 am, with enthusiastic fans making it a celebratory event.
Videos and pictures of the fervent celebrations by SRK fans flooded social media. Fans were seen dancing to dhol beats and lighting fireworks to mark the release of ‘Dunki’. Shah Rukh Khan, touched by this outpouring of love, expressed his gratitude on X and wished everyone an entertaining time watching #Dunki.
However, the reception of the film among viewers has been a mixed bag. One viewer, after watching the first half, described ‘Dunki’ as an emotional rollercoaster, praising Vicky Kaushal’s performance and acknowledging Shah Rukh Khan’s portrayal as exceptional. They expressed a nostalgic sentiment for home and appreciated the patriotism depicted in the movie.

Another fan praised Rajkumar Hirani for the exceptional script, brilliant acting, and predicted ‘Dunki’ would become a gem in Hindi cinema. He wrote, “Rajkumar Hirani does it again. Contrarily, there were negative reviews too, criticizing the film for lackluster humor, a dull script, and the absence of chemistry between Taapsee Pannu and Shah Rukh Khan. However, they praised Vicky Kaushal’s performance as the film’s saving grace.

‘Dunki’ received a U/A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification, running for 2 hours and 41 minutes. The storyline follows a group of friends aspiring to move abroad, taking the unconventional ‘Donkey Flight’ route and showcasing the challenges they encounter.
