Puri Jagannadh’s upcoming film Double iSmart starring Ram Pothineni is creating quite a buzz in the film industry. Set to release on August 15, 2024, the film has already sold its streaming rights to Amazon Prime Video for a significant amount. According to a tweet from producer BA Raju’s team Amazon Prime Video acquired the digital rights for Rs. 33 crore.

However, the movie encountered some controversy. On July 18, 2024, an item song titled “Maar Muntha Chod Chintha” drew criticism for using a phrase associated with former Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao. Rajitha Reddy, a member of the BRS complained to the filmmakers for the inappropriate use of this phrase claiming it hurt the sentiments of BRS leaders.

Despite the controversy, the first teaser for “Double iSmart” was released on May 15, 2024, coinciding with Ram Pothineni’s 36th birthday. The teaser gave fans a glimpse of a new side of Ram’s character. The film also features notable actors like Sanjay Dutt, Kavya Thapar, and Bani J who have made significant impressions with their roles.

“Double iSmart” is a sequel to the 2019 film “iSmart Shankar,” with Ram Pothineni reprising his role as Shankar. The movie includes a stellar cast including Sanjay Dutt, Kavya Thapar, Sayaji Shinde, and Bani J.
