After facing a big failure with the movie Liger, Puri Jagannath is working hard to recover quickly. To play it safe, he decided to make a sequel to his successful film iSmart Shankar. The upcoming film, titled Double iSmart, features Ram Pothineni, the energetic hero who is also looking for a comeback after facing challenges with films like The Warrior, and the less-than-expected performance of Skanda.
In a daring move to ensure the success of the sequel, producer-director Puri Jagannadh has said to have invested an unprecedented ₹7 crores in the climax of “Double iSmart.”
This financial commitment, a first in Puri Jagan’s career, is marking his expectations as well as hopes on the movie. The climax, filmed over 12 days in Mumbai, is said to showcase Ram in a rugged avatar, reminiscent of the iconic climax fight sequence in Mahesh Babu’s Pokiri.
Despite the financial risks, Puri is said to have taken this bold step to assure that the climax will surely attract the movie buffs. The hope is that this substantial investment in the climax pays off, contributing to the overall success of the movie.
Scheduled for release on March 8th, “Double iSmart” becomes a crucial project for both the actor and the director as they aim to achieve breakeven success and revive their respective careers in the Tollywood.
