Journalists usually get assignments to take the bytes/opinions of film stars on certain topics. It is true that sometimes questions are asked that are not connected with the industry but it isn’t that difficult if you are well read or informed. It is also not difficult to give sensible answers. When they can’t, the scribes fill up for them. Most actors get into films by leaving studies mid way and some are very qualified with super degrees yet they drop everything for their passion. These days all artists spend time refreshing their URLs and it is mostly about which actor is doing what. That is they are frogs in a well and are not concerned with the world outside.
Recently actor Manoj Bajpayee was interviewed by a channel and he was asked about Indo-China border tension. Not all actors get to read newspapers. He said, “If you say we are only actors, on Twitter you troll us by saying that (since) we are actors you want our opinions on things that we are not so good about. Yes, we are only actors and to talk about the economy, to talk about something I don’t have an idea about the Indo-China border tension? How am I supposed to answer and satisfy your questions?” Manoj said, deliberating on the subject of film celebrities having to tackle all sorts of questions these days, on media and social media. “So, calling for a byte and harassing actors is something you should not do. Let them (actors) be and let them do their job. Pull them up if they are doing anything illegal, pull them up if they are taking the citizens or the country for granted, or society for granted. Ask for an answer but don`t ask them something that is not related to them,” he said. Seriously? Is the border issue not pertinent, isn’t it common sense?
