Does ‘Spirit’ have a similar story to THIS Tamil blockbuster

Prabhas is all set to collaborate with director Sandeep Reddy Vanga for the upcoming film ‘Spirit’. The movie’s pre-production is going on at a fast pace, and the team is planning to start regular shooting in May. However, even before filming begins, reports about the film’s story being leaked have surfaced in Bollywood media.

As per reports, Prabhas will play a police officer for the first time in his career. His character is a sincere and honest officer who comes from a middle-class family. He has a wife and a four-year-old son. However, during a mission, his life takes a drastic turn. His family faces a huge threat, and he finds himself in a tough situation. The story revolves around how he overcomes these challenges, defeats the villain and protects his family.

Many are comparing the leaked story of ‘Spirit’ with the Tamil film ‘Theri’, starring Vijay, which was directed by Atlee. This film was recently remade in Hindi as ‘Baby John’, but it failed at the box office. However, sources claim that while the premise might seem similar, ‘Spirit’ will have a different storyline and treatment. It is said to have intense emotions and high-action sequences, especially in the second half.

Prabhas is reportedly undergoing a major transformation for his role in ‘Spirit’. His look and physique will be unique compared to his previous films. This makeover is one of the reasons for the slight delay in the movie’s shooting schedule.

Several names including Mrunal Thakur, Alia Bhatt and Rashmika Mandanna have been rumored as the film’s lead actress. However, no one has been finalized yet. The movie is being produced by T-Series and Bhadrakali Pictures and is expected to release by the end of 2026. Harshavardhan Rameshwar is composing the music.
