Does Prabhas regret giving 5 years to Baahubali

Prabhas dedicated five years to his role in SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali, a commitment that significantly impacted his career and Indian cinema. Would he ever invest much time in a project again?

SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali franchise transformed Prabhas’ life and career, creating a massive fan following and changing Indian cinema’s landscape. The film’s production was a monumental task, requiring five years of effort from actors, directors, and technicians. According to Koimoi, Prabhas recently discussed the challenges of dedicating such a long period to a single project.

“Actors have limited time and a shelf life,” Prabhas said. “I don’t think I can give five years to one project again. If I do, I will need to balance it with other projects because age also matters. It wouldn’t be good for my career.”

Despite the challenges, Prabhas acknowledged that Baahubali was a unique opportunity worth the effort. He recognized the film as a once-in-a-lifetime experience, validating the hard work and determination he invested.

Prabhas Work Front

After Baahubali, Prabhas starred in Nag Ashwin’s blockbuster, Kalki 2898 AD, alongside notable actors like Kamal Haasan, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, and Disha Patani. A sequel to this epic sci-fi film has been confirmed.

Prabhas has several exciting projects lined up. One of them is Spirit, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, known for his work on Arjun Reddy. Announced last year, this highly anticipated Telugu film will be a cop-based action movie with a blend of entertainment and emotions, aiming to appeal to a wide audience. A source close to the project revealed that the director aims to create a commercially viable film with Prabhas.

In addition to Spirit, Prabhas will star in a romantic-comedy horror film titled Raja Saab Fan India, set for release on April 10, 2025, and directed by Maruthi. Moreover, he has Salaar: Part 2 and a period movie directed by Hanu Raghavapudi of Sita Ramam fame in the pipeline.
