Telugu actor Kalyan Ram was taken aback when a reporter asked him if his upcoming film has any resemblance to the 1986 Hollywood film ‘Three Amigos’.
The actor said he doesn’t have any idea if a film existed with the same title. “Seriously, I didn’t know that a title of this sort existed before. I didn’t watch the Hollywood movie either so I don’t have any idea about that movie. Is the story anywhere related to lookalikes,” Kalyan Ram shot back to the reporter.
Well, the Hollywood flick was a comic caper directed by John Landis. It is a story of three gunfighters, who are mistaken for real heroes. go on to protect vulnerable lots in a distant Mexican village.
Coming to the Telugu film ‘Amigos’ is a story of three lookalikes. When asked whether ‘Amigos’ is an experimental movie? Kalyan Ram said, “This is not an experimental movie. ‘118’ was the only film that I experimented upon. Every other film of mine is very commercial, and I make sure my films are narrated in an interesting way. So I won’t say ‘Bimbisara’ is an unknown subject, but we added to spice up a bit by adding some interesting elements.”
