Naga Chaitanya has four back-to-back flops to his credit. Sahasam Swasaga, Yuddham Saranam, Sailaja Reddy Alludu and Savyasachi have all failed in quick succession. He needs to be very careful about the timing of his next release. But, nothing of that sort seems to be happening as Naga Chaitanya’s next outing Majili is releasing on April 5, the same date when Nani’ Jersey is releasing. Nani is an in-form hero with a surefire success rate and has films always have decent openings. Naga Chaitanya, unfortunately, is passing through a rough patch in his career.
Interestingly, both the films have cricket as the background. In Jersey, Nani is playing a cricketer passing through a mid-age crisis, while in Majili, Naga Chaitanya teacher cricket to his former’s love’s child. Similar themes and similar genres will make the competition tougher. Shouldn’t Naga Chaitanya be more circumspect as a comparison is inevitable?
